The direction the Church is going if we stop thinking, believing and praying for one another. We are going to wind up not worshiping God, but ourselves and materialism. Because of our consumerism, Joel Olstein is able to tickle our ears with promises of success and wealth beyond our wildest dreams! Here is where the Church needs to stand up against evils such as this. Satan offered Christ the world and all its wealth as long as He gave Satan his soul. I think Joel Olstein and Satan might have tons to talk about if ever they were to meet at a coffee shop. They may have more in common then they even know.

This is a very sad response. “You will know one another by their love” is certainly not being projected here. It sounds more like jealously. Joel is coming from a very sound biblical perspective. Is it the only perspective from the teaching of scripture – no it is not. But neither is it completely about missions, hard work, prayer, stewardship. Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit and no one person will ever be able to comprehend or teach it in it’s entirety. Joel has a very good piece and is teaching as the spirit is leading. He does not claim to be the entire authority. We are sons & daughters of the living, all mighty, all powerful God, who loves us and wants us to experience “life, life that is more than just ordinary living”. Way too many believers are living under a cloud of doubt, guilt and fear. This is not God’s intended plan. Victorious living can come in, around and through unplanned and unwanted circumstances. Faith builds character, not because we steadfastly endure, but because we believe “all things work together for good…”. Too bad, you can’t fit his leading of the spirit into your box.

I’ve read some of Joel Olstiens books, and they are mainly instruction manuals on how to use God as an ATM machine instead of actually having a relationship with him. I’m not all doom and gloom about the Christian life, but there is something numb about Olstien’s teaching that do not provide the full spectrum of the Christian experience. It is my belif and experience that prosperity preaching is an easy sell in today’s world of constant conummerism and greed. We need more and more stuff to fill a void and what better way than to have God do that for us. From a biblical prespective, God is never reduced to the role of Santa Claus, handing out gifts to screaming children in a crowded mall, he is actually mysterious, free to do his own will, and lives with us and apart from us. Joel may make you feel good, but in the end it is simply a shallow feeling that does not provide the vitality to see the world on a deep level. Read the Prophetic Imagination. It speaks volumes on this subject.

Your video’s are no longer available. I dislike the editorial headline with absolutely no supporting data at all.

R U kidding me? That man was the only minister my husband is touched by. My husband was a once upon a time catholic and years have past, but he got hooked on Joel. My husband found catholicism confusing but by reading Joel’s books and watching him on the television, he has become awakened.
Thank you Joel for purging him from the demons he carried within himself for so long.
Blessed be

If his Dad was alive he would roller over for the spineless display of Christian bargaining he does…Joel…you are a sale out to your Faith! You will stand before God one day…and ask him for his check book!
